Former Edo Governor Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has revealed that the Federal Government has a plan to alleviate the impact of petrol subsidy removal on Nigerians.
Oshiomhole was part of a Federal Government delegation that met with representatives of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Sunday in Abuja.
TUC President Festus Osifo confirmed that a list of demands had been submitted to the government and that dialogue would continue on Tuesday.
Oshiomhole stated in an interview after the meeting that the government recognises the immediate need for a solution to the discomfort caused by the subsidy removal and that the government has a plan to leverage savings or even borrowing to improve wages and cushion the cost of living.
The demands of the union include an increase in the minimum wage and tax holidays for certain categories of people.
