Air Peace, Nigeria’s leading airline, is set to launch direct flights from Nigeria to London, starting from March 30, 2024. In a bid to compete with international airlines, the airline has decided to slash ticket prices on the Lagos-London route, making it more affordable for travelers.
The approval for direct flights to London came after Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, engaged with the United Kingdom to make this a reality. Air Peace reached an agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways to utilize B777 and Dreamliners for the London operations.
While Dreamliners are operated by Norse Atlantic Airways, Air Peace owns B777 aircraft. The ticket pricing offered by Air Peace is significantly cheaper compared to other international airlines operating on the same route.
Economy class tickets for the Lagos-London route are priced at N1.2 million, while business class tickets are priced at N4 million. This pricing is approximately 60% cheaper than what foreign airlines charge, as they average around N3.5 million for economy class tickets.
