Manchester United’s chase for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has taken another turn. Reports indicate that Al-Hilal are putting together a fresh £42.6 million-per-year salary offer in a renewed effort to bring the Nigerian forward to Saudi Arabia.
Osimhen is expected to return to Napoli following a strong loan spell at Galatasaray. After being sidelined by Antonio Conte last season, a permanent exit from the Italian club now seems likely.
According to Goal, Al-Hilal are still eager to sign the 26-year-old. Their new offer comes after Osimhen reportedly turned down an earlier €30 million-per-year deal. The Saudi club is also ready to trigger his €75 million release clause to push the deal forward.
As the summer window unfolds, Osimhen’s next move remains open. Manchester United have restarted talks, but financial constraints may force them to sell players first. The club has already invested £62.5 million in Matheus Cunha and could look to generate more funds by selling Rasmus Hojlund to Inter Milan.
Even with these financial challenges, United’s attraction still carries weight. However, competition from Champions League clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea could complicate their chances of securing Osimhen.
Reflecting on his career choices, Osimhen once said, “The life-changing amount of money on offer is not the be all and end all for every footballer.”
