According to TeamTalk, Arsenal has identified Nigerian duo Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface as potential options for their striking position in the upcoming transfer window.
The Premier League club has reportedly drawn up a four-man shortlist of striking options, with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta prioritizing the acquisition of a top striker before next season.
Arsenal’s struggles in front of goal have been evident, with the team winning only one of their seven games from December 9 to January 7 and scoring just five goals during that period.
In January, Arteta was unable to make a move for a striker due to the threat of Financial Fair Play sanctions.
However, with funds available in the summer, Osimhen and Boniface have emerged as potential targets. The current leading number nine, Gabriel Jesus, has faced challenges with knee injuries during his time at the Emirates Stadium.
Additionally, Eddie Nketiah, while talented, has not yet established himself as a long-term solution up front and continues to play second fiddle to the Brazilian.
As Arsenal looks to strengthen their attacking options, Osimhen and Boniface offer potential solutions. Both players have shown promise and could provide the much-needed firepower that the Gunners require.
