One Premier League manager is being admired by the Aston Villa board and will be considered to replace Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard was relieved of his duties at the West Midlands club on Thursday night (20 October) just hours after his side’s 3-0 defeat to newly-promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Villa have won just two games out of 11 all season and Gerrard leaves the club in 17th place in the table.
The club will reportedly consider Brentford manager Thomas Frank as a candidate to replace Gerrard as head coach.
Former PSG and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is the fans’ favourite to take the job, while the likes of Michael Beale, Thomas Frank and Unai Emery also amongst the bookies’ favourites for the job.
According to The Athletic, Brentford boss Thomas Frank is admired by the Aston Villa board and will be considered as part of the search to replace Gerrard. Villa face Frank’s side at Villa Park on Sunday (23 October).
Mauricio Pochettino, former Villa assistant Michael Beale, Unai Emery and Thomas Frank are the current favourites to replace Gerrard.
