On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu took the first step in establishing his administration by swearing in Senator George Akume as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Akume, a former governor of Benue State and immediate past Minister of Special Duties, was appointed to the position last week alongside Femi Gbajabiamila, who was named Chief of Staff to the President.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, and Mrs. Regina Akume, the wife of the new SGF.
The event took place inside the Council Chambers of Aso Rock presidential Villa.
