Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has restored his club and Nike endorsements back to his Instagram bio following the dropping of charges against him.
The English star hadn’t been playing since his arrest in January 2022, and it’s unclear what will happen to a player who had previously been one of the most promising talents of his generation.
Last week’s news saw all charges dropped against Greenwood, with United revealing that they will continue their investigation before deciding what will take place next.
Prior to the situation, Nike had confirmed that Greenwood was no longer with them as an athlete.
It is thought that the current United squad are divided on whether or not he should come back into the team after being absent for over twelve months – some viewing it an unnecessary distraction while others feel they have to look after a player who has been with them since he was six years old.
Manager Erik ten Hag stated that he couldn’t add anything more than what was already said in United’s statement when asked by reporters but did acknowledge how sometimes human issues can arise and compromise one’s ability to focus on work.
In response to this result, Greenwood thanked his family and friends for standing by him during the process while intimating there would be no further comments on the matter at this time
