Wema Bank Eyes Tier-1 Status as it Celebrates 78th Anniversary

Wema Bank recently celebrated its 78th anniversary and announced its goal to achieve tier-1 bank status.

The bank also marked the 6th anniversary of its digital banking application, Alat, which has been recognized as a world-class product.

Managing Director/Chief Executive Director, Mr. Moruf Oseni, expressed pride in the bank’s achievements, including bringing it back to the height of banking in Nigeria.

He also acknowledged the support of past and present executives, staff, and customers.

Looking to the future, Oseni set a target of N30 billion and aims to take the bank back to tier-one status, as it was when it was formed from the merger of Wema and National banks, both of which were in the top five banks in Nigeria.

The bank is confident that its best is yet to come and looks forward to celebrating even bigger milestones in the future.
