According to reports, Chelsea has agreed on personal terms with Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana ahead of the UEFA Champions League final.
The team has identified Onana as their top target to become their new number one goalkeeper under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino. Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy’s futures at Stamford Bridge are uncertain, and Pochettino wants to sign a new goalkeeper.
Chelsea has been scouting the 27-year-old for some time and has been impressed with his performances for Inter, where he kept eight clean sheets in 12 games.
A decision on Onana’s future will be made after the Champions League final against Manchester City.
Reports suggest that Chelsea has scheduled a meeting with Inter in the coming weeks to discuss the goalkeeper’s future.
However, Inter has rejected an opening bid worth £34m, which is £18m short of their valuation of the player.
The Serie A side is demanding £52m for his services this summer.
Onana reportedly wants to join the Premier League team, which is good news for Chelsea.
The team has a few options to explore in negotiations with Inter, including Romelu Lukaku or Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
