Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has distanced himself from the reported internal conflict between the club’s co-owners, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.
The relationship between the two, key figures in the ownership group that took over from Roman Abramovich, has reportedly broken down.
Boehly, who owns just 13% of the club, is allegedly seeking to buy out Clearlake Capital’s Eghbali and co-founder Jose Feliciano, but Clearlake holds a controlling 61.5% stake and has no intention of selling.
Despite the behind-the-scenes turmoil, Maresca remains focused on his role and the team’s performance.
The Italian is Chelsea’s fourth permanent manager under the current ownership.
He has collected four points from his first three matches and is concentrating on improving the squad.
When asked about the ownership rift, Maresca admitted he had “no idea” about it and said his priority is the team’s progress on the field.
Maresca emphasized that the players are professional enough to handle off-field issues, and his focus is entirely on preparing the team for upcoming games.
Ahead of their match against Bournemouth, he reiterated that anything outside of football is beyond his control and not worth his energy.
