6 Chelsea players that don’t have squad numbers yet

Chelsea players without squad numbers

About six Chelsea players do not currently have squad numbers, indicating that Thomas Tuchel will not be using them this season.

The Blues have been particularly active in the transfer market thanks to their new owner Todd Boehly, bringing in promising players like Carney Chukwuemeka and Gabriel Slonina from Aston Villa and Chicago Fire, respectively, as well as Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly from Manchester City and Napoli.

There are even connections to the Barcelona trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Frenkie de Jong, and Memphis Depay.

Additionally, several Chelsea players will be made redundant before the next season begins due to a frenzy of new arrivals.

Without a shirt number, teenage defender Levi Colwill, who spent the previous season on loan at Huddersfield Town, appears destined to join Brighton as part of the Cucurella trade.

Ross Barkley, who had previously worn Nos. 8 and 18, has not been assigned a number.

Billy Gilmour, a 21-year-old midfielder for Scotland who played with the Under 23 team throughout the preseason, has a bleak future.

While Welsh international Ethan Ampadu, who spent last season at Venezia, may return to Italy on loan, Everton has indicated an interest in him.

Koulibaly will wear the No. 26 after John Terry gave his approval, Chelsea has stated on their official website.

The jersey numbers that Gallagher and Broja wore last season at Southampton and Crystal Palace, respectively, are 23 and 18, respectively. The 17 that Sterling has been wearing during the preseason will remain his.

The 18-year-old wonder Chukwuemeka, who cost £20 million to acquire, will wear number 30.

Other players without a squad number are Ross Barkley, Michy Batshuayi, Billy Gilmour, Kenedy, Levi Colwill, and Ethan Ampadu, and the Stamford Bridge outfit has made no announcements about them.
