Peter Obi isn’t chasing power to fill a personal void or ego trip—he’s in it because he actually gives a damn about Nigeria – www.naijnaira.com reports.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie sat down on Channels TV’s Amazing Africans and didn’t hold back, describing Obi as one of the rare figures in politics who remains unchanged by ambition or status.

According to Channels TV, she emphasized that Obi’s desire to lead isn’t driven by self-interest but by genuine concern for the country’s direction.

“He doesn’t crave the office to satisfy himself—he just genuinely believes he can make things better,” she explained.

She drew a sharp line between people obsessed with titles and those who lead out of duty, noting that many seek the presidency to inflate their egos.

Adichie praised Obi’s humility, saying he’s not the type who needs applause for doing what’s expected of a leader.

Her admiration seems rooted in consistency, stating, “The Peter I met over a decade ago still carries the same values—nothing’s changed.”

She said Obi never behaves like someone above the people, describing his sense of leadership as “grounded and accountable.”

Chimamanda called him “one of the simplest men” she has met, stressing that his calm demeanor and integrity have not wavered since they first crossed paths.
