The Chief of Army Staff, Taoreed Lagbaja, has issued a warning to residents of Mangu Local Government in Plateau State, urging them to surrender any illegally acquired weapons.

The warning came during a meeting with representatives of various ethnic and interest groups in the area.

The meeting was held as part of ongoing efforts to find a solution to the clashes between farming communities and pastoralists that have resulted in numerous deaths and displacements.

Lagbaja emphasized the need for residents to collect and submit any weapons in their possession to the military, stating that failure to do so could result in their deaths.

He also highlighted the importance of addressing the issue of violence for the sake of the children’s future and urged all parties involved to work towards peace and understanding.

Representatives from the Mwaghavul and Fulani communities expressed their perspectives on the situation and called for a resolution to the ongoing conflicts.
