There has been a heated controversy between the two wives of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, as they both lay claim to the office of the first lady.
Ngozi and Titilola Adeleke have been silently competing for relevance in the administration of Governor Adeleke since his emergence as the governor of the state.
The rivalry between the two wives came to light when separate posters welcoming Nigeria’s first lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to the state surfaced on social media. Ngozi’s poster proclaimed her as the “First Lady of Osun State,” while Titilola’s poster also claimed the same title. The conflicting posters created confusion among the public.
Governor Adeleke swiftly intervened to clarify the situation. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, he recognized Titilola Adeleke as the official “First Lady of Osun State.” He described Ngozi Adeleke as the “wife of the governor.”
The governor also revealed that the person responsible for the fake poster had been apprehended and questioned. Governor Adeleke emphasized that there was no confusion regarding the position of the first lady. He confirmed that Titilola Adeleke would be hosting Oluremi Tinubu during her official visit to the state.
He further stated that the visit presented an opportunity for the development of children and women in Osun State.
