Senator Rochas Okorocha has been acquitted of corruption charges by the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This is the third time that Okorocha has been cleared of allegations of fraud and corruption during his tenure as governor of Imo State.

The court dismissed the charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), stating that it was an abuse of court processes for the EFCC to continue filing similar charges in different courts.

The court also referenced a previous judgment that declared the investigation upon which the charges were based as illegal and null and void.

The court emphasized that the EFCC must operate within the law and respect the decisions of the court.

The judge concluded by stating that once a case of abuse of court processes is established, the charges should be dismissed, and Okorocha was discharged.
