Court Reserves Judgment in Adeleke's Osun Governorship Case

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has heard the appeal from Ademola Adeleke, seeking to overturn his disqualification as Governor of Osun state.

The panel, led by M.F. Shuaibu, heard submissions from both sides and reserved judgment for a future date.

In this appeal, marked CA/AK/EPT/GOV/01/2023, Adeleke is the appellant while Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are first and second respondents respectively; INEC and PDP are also involved as third and fourth respondent.

This follows a judgment passed on January 27th in favour of Oyetola by the Osun Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

Adeleke labelled this decision “a miscarriage of justice” due to its alleged unfair interpretation against majority voters’ will.

He has put forward 31 grounds of appeal to support his case seeking an annulment of all tribunal decisions or alternatively an outright dismissal based on lack of competence and jurisdiction.
