Odegaard, who had previously played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid, has opened up on the Portuguese superstar taking care of him when he first arrived at the club.
The Arsenal captain was just 16 years old when he made his move to the Spanish capital for a fee of £3 million in 2015, with language proving to be one of the biggest obstacles for him.
Fortunately for him, Ronaldo, along with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos were among those players at Madrid who spoke English.
Speaking to The Players’ Tribune, Odegaard further added: “I was worried about how these guys would treat me when I walked into their dressing room – this little kid who didn’t speak any Spanish.
“But they were all very welcoming – especially Ronaldo, Modric and Kroos who helped me out extra during those early days.”
