Dele Alake, a spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council in the 2023 election, has denied reports that he was appointed as President Bola Tinubu’s spokesperson.
Despite former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode’s tweet claiming Alake’s appointment, The Cable reported that Alake called the news “fake” and expressed surprise that news outlets would publish unsigned stories.
Alake previously served as commissioner for information and strategy in Lagos during Tinubu’s tenure as governor from 1999 to 2007.
He also worked as the director of media and communication for the Buhari campaign organization in 2014.
Before entering politics, Alake was a journalist and editor for Concord Press Publishers and the National Concord.
