Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, recently spoke out, claiming that referees and VAR (Video Assistant Referee) always favour their LaLiga rivals, Real Madrid.
This came after Angel Correa was sent off in the 64th minute of a 1-1 draw on Saturday with Rudiger due to an elbow to his chest.
Simeone suggested that if every similar action were punished with red cards then there would have been no players left on the field.
He concluded by noting that it has become normal for referee decisions to go in Real Madrid’s favour, adding that it would be nice if everyone could compete on an even playing field.
