Nigerian forward Edna Imade has officially joined FC Bayern Women after a standout season with Granada, NaijNaira can report.
According to official confirmation from Bayern, the 24-year-old signed a long-term deal keeping her with the club until 2029.
Imade will spend the 2025–26 season on loan at Real Sociedad to continue gaining top-flight experience.
Bayern’s Women’s Director Bianca Rech said, “Edna brings an exciting profile to the table – she’s fast, physically strong and versatile in attack.”
Rech explained the club’s thinking behind the immediate loan: “She’s an open-minded, ambitious player – we’re convinced she’ll give us a lot of joy in the future.”
Imade, born in Morocco to Nigerian parents and raised in Spain, said she’s proud of this step in her career.
“I’m incredibly happy and proud to have signed my contract with FC Bayern Women,” she shared.
The striker also added, “This step is one of the most important in my career so far and shows me that the hard work I have put in over the past few years has paid off.”
Imade scored 16 goals in 29 games for Granada last season, tying Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas in the scoring charts.
Despite this form, Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu left her out of Nigeria’s WAFCON squad in favor of Chioma Okafor.
Imade can play centrally or out wide and describes herself as a team player who always gives her all on the pitch.
Eligible to represent Nigeria, Morocco, or Spain, her move to Bayern could prompt new international attention.
