Erling Haaland has matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s record as the joint-fastest player to score 100 goals for a single club.
Ronaldo achieved the milestone in 105 appearances for Real Madrid, and now Haaland has done the same for Manchester City.
The Norwegian striker reached the landmark with a goal inside 10 minutes against Arsenal in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium.
Making a well-timed run behind defenders William Saliba and Gabriel, Haaland latched onto a through ball from Savinho and slotted it past Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya.
This goal also marked Haaland’s 10th in just five Premier League games this season, setting a new record as the fastest player to reach 10 goals in a Premier League campaign.
Although he did not find the net in Manchester City’s first Champions League game against Inter Milan, his performance in the league remains stellar.
Had he scored in that match, he would have held the record outright.
Nonetheless, sharing the honor with Cristiano Ronaldo offers a breadth of historical context to Haaland’s outstanding scoring record.
