Ex-Flying Eagles Forward Joins Ligue 1 Club Montpellier

Ligue 1 club, Montpellier have completed the signing of former Flying Eagles forward, Jerome Akor.

Akor joined the former Ligue 1 champions from Norwegian club, Lillestrom.

The striker, who signed a four-year contract has been assigned jersey number 8.

Montpellier paid Lillestrom €5.5m to secure his services.

Akor will be second Nigerian to play for Montpelier following the footsteps of former Super Eagles winger, John Utaka.

He expressed his delight upon joining his new club and his looking forward to meeting his new teammates.

“I have a very good feeling when I arrive here. I think I have come to the right place, at the right time to take a step forward. I can’t wait to meet everyone and start this adventure,” he told the club’s website

Akor will look to make his debut for Montpelier against Le Havre this weekend.
