The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office has revealed that the cause of Lisa Marie Presley’s death was an intestinal blockage.
The 54-year-old singer-songwriter, who was the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, passed away on January 12.
The medical examiner’s report stated that the blockage was a result of scar tissue that developed after weight-loss surgery years ago.
The toxicology report, which is expected to provide more details about her condition, has not yet been released.
Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital due to a suspected cardiac arrest before her death.
Following her passing, there has been tension within her immediate family regarding control over her trust.
Her mother, Priscilla, has been attempting to gain control, while friends have suggested that Lisa Marie wanted her daughter, Riley Keough, to be in control.
A settlement was reached in June, making Riley the sole trustee of Lisa Marie’s estate.
Lisa Marie is survived by her three children, Riley, Finley, and Harper.
