Former President Goodluck Jonathan has mourned the loss of his uncle, Elder Omieworio Afeni.

Elder Afeni passed away on Wednesday in Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa State, after a short illness.

Aged 87 years old, he was the younger brother of Jonathan’s mother.

In reaction to this devastating news, the former President shared that he felt “deeply pained” and continued to describe his uncle as an individual who embodied peace and harmony within the community.

Furthermore, Jonathan shared his gratitude towards God for blessing Elder Afeni with a long and fulfilling life.

The family is currently at Otuoke receiving sympathies from those close to them.
