Globacom, a data service provider, has launched its Fourth Generation Long Term Evolution Advanced network, also known as 4G-LTE Advanced, in major cities across Nigeria.
The network is expected to boost economic and commercial activity, increase productivity, and improve the experiences of subscribers who use a lot of data.
To connect to the network, existing customers with 4G SIMs can enjoy the service, while those without need to upgrade their SIM cards to USIM (4G SIM) through a simple SIM swap process.
Customers also need a 4G-enabled device to experience seamless and super-fast mobile internet services.
The Glo 4G LTE Advanced network is described as “transformational” and will have a significant impact on government and corporate organizations, such as banks, oil and gas companies, academic and health institutions, which depend largely on reliable data connection for their operations.
The network will also enable optimum performance for use in telemedicine, e-agriculture, 3D games, and other life-enhancing cases.
More than 4,000 LTE Advanced sites are planned for rollout in major cities across Nigeria to ensure nationwide coverage of the network.
