In a recent interview with African Independent Television (AIT), Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, expressed his willingness to give up his office for the sake of peace in the State.

Fubara and the former governor of the State, Nyesom Wike, have been embroiled in a political crisis due to their political differences.

Over the past two months, the power struggle in Rivers State has escalated, causing tension and anxiety.

President Bola Tinubu intervened to broker peace between Wike and Fubara.

However, this intervention was seen by many as putting Fubara at a disadvantage.

Despite the challenges, Fubara remains committed to the success of his administration.

He emphasized that his love and interest for the state are genuine, and he is willing to make any sacrifice necessary.

Fubara’s primary concern is the welfare of the people of Rivers State, who have made sacrifices and deserve to see progress. Fubara made it clear that he does not seek to be the sole decision-maker for the state.

His main objective is to ensure that Rivers State thrives.

He acknowledged that there were moments when he could have taken actions that would have caused further crisis, but he chose restraint and maturity instead.
