Erling Haaland showed his quality once again on Saturday evening as the Norwegian scored a hat-trick in Man City’s resounding 6-0 FA Cup victory over Burnley.
City dominated from start to finish and asserted their dominance once Haaland opened the scoring in 32 minutes, with Julian Alvarez and Cole Palmer also getting in on the act.
The win was especially satisfying for manager Pep Guardiola who saw his side put one foot in the semi-finals while former captain Vincent Kompany endured a nightmare return to Manchester.
Haaland now has an incredible 42 goals this season, with six of those coming in the form of hat-tricks in just 19 appearances at the Etihad.
“It’s been a good couple of games — important games,” said Haaland after the game.
The remaining three quarter-finals take place on Sunday, with Manchester United hosting Fulham while Sheffield United will battle Blackburn and fourth-tier Grimsby aim for another upset when they visit an in-form Brighton side.
