Nigerian player Ado Hadi tragically passed away during a match between CD Madridejos and SP Cabanillas of the Spanish Terceira Division on Sunday.
Hadi had been playing for an estimated 39 minutes before he suddenly collapsed “for no apparent reasons,” according to the Castilla-La Mancha Football Federation statement.
The medical team on the grounds of Municipal Toledo attempted to revive him, unfortunately to no avail, as he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Club Deportivo Madridejos is based in Madridejos, Castile-La Mancha in Spain, and has been in existence since 1968 – it plays in the Tercera División Group 18, using Nuevo Estadio as its home ground, with a capacity of 2,000 seats.
Hadi was one of four Nigerians playing for this club at the time of his passing.
