During a media chat with journalists in Port Harcourt, former Governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike, addressed rumors of him accepting an appointment from President Bola Tinubu.
Wike stated that he is not lobbying for an appointment and circumstances will dictate whether he accepts one or not.
He also clarified that he isn’t begging for an appointment but would consider the capacity he is to serve if Tinubu calls him.
Wike previously made connections with Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress but belongs to the opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party.
He worked against the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the February 25 presidential election.
Wike emphasized that he would consult with his political team and family before making any decisions regarding an appointment.
