Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party has been declared the winner of Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Bauchi State.
As reported by the returning officer, Vice Chancellor Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed, Governor Bala won in 15 out of 20 local government areas, while his All Progressives Congress (APC) opponent, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd), took five aside.
This was determined after result from the final local government area – Bauchi – had arrived and was collated at 9:10am on Monday morning.
The tally showed successes for Governor Bala in Jama’are; Kirfi; Bogoro; Warji; Itas Gadau; Shira; Zaki; Ganjuwa; Danbam; Dass; Alkaleri; Ningi; Tafawa Balewa; Toro, and Bauchi LGAs and for Air Marshal Abubakar (rtd) in Giade; Gamawa; Darazo; Misau, and Katagum.
Another formal declaration from the Returning Officer is expected soon.
