From the perspective of design, the S6 is a pretty cool phone. In fact, the impressive work Infinix did with S5 should be enough to make you understand the S6 will be an impressive product.
Giving details about the design of the S6, the product comes in a design quite similar to that of the S5.
The dimension of the S6 is also close to that of the S5. And while the phone features glass in its front, it’s rear side is protected with plastic.
Having glass on the rear side will be a nice thing, but Infinix can’t be considered to have disappointed, as their products in this category are generally known to not come with glass on the rear side.
In terms of computing hardware, the S6 is significantly better than its predecessor. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset.
This chipset is a pretty popular one, so it’s possible you know it. However, as for those know little or nothing about this chipset, the chipset is a great chipset for mid-range phones.
The chipset features an octa-core processor whose cores are all Cortex A53 cores. However, while four of the chipset’s cores can be clocked at 1.80 GHz, the other four can be clocked at 2.30 GHz.
The GPU which handles the graphics processing of the MediaTek Helio P35 is a GPU known as the PowerVR GE8320.
This GPU is a widely used graphics processor, among mid-range phones. So there’s no doubt about it being good at what it’s designed for.
As for the aspect of RAM, the S6 operates with the help of a 4 GB RAM. A nice mid-range phone is expected to come with 6 GB of RAM.
But since we all know Infinix to be stingy, when it comes to RAM, I guess there’s nothing much to say about this.
The display featured by S6 is the same as that featured by the S5. The S6’s display is an in-plane switching (IPS) liquid crystal display.
No one expects an AMOLED display from a product of this type, so we can’t consider the manufacturer to have disappointed as regards display type.
As for the resolution of the phone, it comes with a resolution of 720 x 1,600. This resolution leaves the device with a pixel density of about 266 pixels per inch.
A pixel density of this amount isn’t the most impressive pixel density out there, but it’s still okay.
When it comes to the brightness of the device’s display, you also have nothing to worry about. The S6 has a pretty good brightness.
When I tried using the phone under bright sunlight, I had no problem seeing the contents of the display.
In fact, I didn’t have to use the maximum brightness of the display, to be able to see the phone’s display very well.
It is a device powered by the Android 10 operating system. However, the OS of this product is not the stock Android 10.
Operating system of the S6 is rather a custom version of the Android 10. And as regards which is better, I can’t say the custom OS isn’t good, but I’ll definitely prefer a stock Android 10.
For those who wonder if the phone will be upgradable to the Android 11 OS, no one knows that for now. However, the chance of this being possible is a bit high.
It makes use of a 64 GB storage device as its internal storage device. Although, a great mid-range should come with at least 128 GB of storage, I still can’t consider the S6 a disappointing product.
With 64 GB of storage, you won’t be able to store as much as you can, if you have 128 GB, but you should still be able to manage this.
When using a phone like this, you just have to avoid leaving unnecessary media file on your phone, so that you don’t quickly run into the need for more storage.
And for those who feel they can’t just manage 64 GB, the S6 has support for micro SD card. So all you just have to do, is to get a micro SD card.
Infinix is a manufacturer well-known for equipping its devices with impressive cameras. And the company hasn’t failed to meet up with this expectation.
The S6 has three cameras on its rear side, a 16 MP camera, a 5 MP camera, and a 2 MP camera. The 16 MP lens is, of course, the main rear lens. This 16 MP lens is also highly enhanced.
It’s got both software and hardware enhancements. In fact, the camera alone is capable of taking very nice pictures. But despite how cool the camera is, it also enjoys the support of a 5 MP lens which assist with taking ultra-wide pictures and videos.
And as for the 2 MP lens, it assists the main rear lens with the depth of pictures and videos. I personally took a few pictures with the product, so believe me when I say its impressive.
I not only find the S6’s rear cameras impressive, the front camera of the phone is also something I love.
The front camera of the phone carries a 32 MP camera. And aside from the fact that this camera has a pretty high resolution, it also has loads of enhancements.
And when I say the product has enhancements, I’m talking about both software and hardware enhancements.
5G support is not a thing we’ve started seeing in Infinix products, and the S6 hasn’t brought an end to that. The device only has support for the 2G, 3G, and 4G networks.
In other words, if you’re a person who will want to use 5G, when they travel out to a developed country, a product the S6 may not be an ideal device to make your next phone.
However, when it comes to 4G, the S6 has excellent 4G support. This smart device worked perfectly fine with the 4G networks of all mobile network operators in the country.
If you‘re looking forward to getting a new mid-range phone and if you have decided on making your next phone an Infinix, the S6 is one of the products I’ll ask you to consider.
So guy, do you agree with me that the specs and features of the infinix S6 is worth the asking price in Nigeria? Let me know in the comment.
