One of Africa’s best smartphone manufacturer has officially unveiled their latest flagship. The infinix zero 6 was expected to launched in the last quarter of 2018 but for reason only known to the manufacturer, it came 4 months later.
It came as a successor to infinix zero 5 that was launched in November 2017 but whether it is a worthy upgrade or not is what this article is all about. It also include its price in Nigeria and every other important details you will need to decide if you will be upgrading or not.
Infinix Zero 6.
The device comes in two variants with discrepancies only in the internal storage. The device feature notch display and a mid-range Snapdragon processor (first Qualcomm Chip in a Zero phone).
Design & Display.
Zero 6 is a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display smartphone with Full HD+ resolution, Notch display and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. The cut out display on this device display is similar to what we have seen on the new generations of iPhone over and over again in 2017 (X) and 2018 (Xs and Xs Max).
The bezel across its sides are pretty thin and though the bottom bezel is still there, it has been very much cut down compare to the zero 5 thanks to the latest trend of aspect ratio used on the zero 6.
At the right hand side of the device is the power and volume buttons and on the left is the Sim + Sd card tray. Flipping to the rear of the device, you will quickly notice the dual camera arranged vertically on top of each other with the LED flash under it. Also at the rear is the fingerprint scanner at its usual position.
There is nothing above the device but at the bottom resides the speaker, USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack.
The brightness, contrast and colour reproduction of the zero 6 display is very great.
Processor, Software & Storage.
Zero 6 from infinix is powered by one of the best mid-range processor out there by Qualcomm, the 8-cores Snapdragon 636 with speed running at 1.8GHz. It is accompanied by Adreno 509 to handle any graphics related operations.
The device runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box but you can expect to get Android 9.0 Pie as an upgrade in the next couple of months or maybe even weeks.
Its processing power is assisted by 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB (Zero 6 Pro) internal storage with a dedicated slot for SD card or expandable storage up to 128GB.
Battery, Camera & Connectivity.
Zero 6 infinix is packed with 3650 mAh battery capacity. It is a non removable Li-Ion battery which can last you more than a day of normal usage. It also support infinix X-Charge which can charge it from 0-100 in less than 90 minutes.
Camera wise, it uses dual 12MP + 24MP camera at the rear with Auto-Focus, HDR, Panorama and LED flash. The front facing camera hosted inside the notch is a 20MP lens. Both camera takes clear and crisp pictures.
It supports dual nano sim, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and FM Radio.
