Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has thrown down the gauntlet to former Governors Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, and other political figures who have recently criticized President Bola Tinubu and his administration.
Sani challenged these individuals to test their political popularity in the upcoming 2027 elections if they truly believe in their leadership capabilities.
The challenge follows remarks made by El-Rufai and Amaechi at a conference in Abuja, where they criticized the current direction of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna, accused the APC of abandoning its founding principles and promoting ineffective leadership.
Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation and two-term governor of Rivers State, warned that the political class, including Tinubu, would not easily relinquish power to younger generations without a struggle.
In a recent interview with TVC News, Governor Sani expressed surprise at the critical comments from former APC stalwarts, emphasizing that many of these individuals were original members of the party.
He described their remarks as unfortunate, especially at a time when the country faces significant challenges.
Sani argued that if these critics truly believe they can offer better leadership, they should work towards proving their popularity in the 2027 election.
