Ever since the launching of ITel Mobile by the Hong Kong-based Transsion Holdings in 2007, ITel Mobile claims its focus is on delivering cost-effective and high-specification mobile devices for everyone. The Mobile company has been keeping to its aim, with the newest addition of ITel S15 Pro and the standard S15.
ITel Mobile unveiled the two phones the same day in August 2019, with impressive specifications, and was sold at a great price in Nigeria. Unexpectedly, S15 was launched with a waterdrop display screen type, which is the first from this brand with such a feature.
Not only does this phone feature a waterdrop screen type, but it is also the first ITel phone with Google Gallery Go preinstalled. The two phones are coming with almost the same design and with similar specs
The little variances which make them unique in themselves. Foremost, the S15 Pro is a 4G LTE, while S15 is a 3G branded mobile smartphone. Another difference identified is their RAM and storage size and battery capacity.
While the S15 Pro is 2GB RAM size, 32GB internal storage, its S15 phone sporting 1GB RAM, 16GB storage. S15 is packed with 3,000mAh, and it’s Pro version with 3,000mAh. While we celebrate a triple camera with the Pro version, S15 comes with a dual camera at the rear.
This an entry-level Android phone looks way more expensive than it is, considering its top-notch specifications, but amazingly, the phones are extremely affordable. S15 can be purchased with as little as N29,000, which is approximately $80, and its readily available in all Nigeria major phone warehouses for end-users to get this upper mid-range smartphone.
Without wasting much time, let me run through the review of the phone specification.
How Much is iTel S15 Pro Price in Nigeria
You can get the S15 pro for N29,000 Naira and the standard S15 for N25,000 Naira. Both device available online and offline.
The S15 and S15 Pro is the company’s first mobile phone that features double and triple camera setup.
S15 Pro is possessed similar camera sensors as the standard version but possesses extra VGA sensor gadgets. An 8MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and + VGA + VGA dedicated low-light sensor and an LED flash at the rear sides of the phone, which are suitable for video recording and taking still images.
The front camera is powered with a 16MP f/2.0 aperture with A.I. Face Beauty 3.0, for selfies and video calling.
S15 Pro comes with a 4,000mAh non-removable battery delivering the power and the standard model, with 3,000mAh, which is a plus point of this phone. ITel claims it deliver 18 hours of talk time, 22.5 hours of music playback, 12 hours of video playback, 16.5 hours of web surfing, 9.4 hours of gaming, and 25.4 days of standby time.
Though these attestations are yet to be tested affirmed, though considering power-efficient processor and low-res display, one could expect a battery backup of almost one and a half-day
In terms of connectivity, it S15 Pro is sports 4G LTE and the standard version with 3G.
Both models possess Bluetooth 5.0, dual-SIM, 3.5mm jack, F.M. Radio, OTG, micro USB, GPS, and WiFi. However, given its budget pricing, Infinix has skipped on fast charging support.
Therefore, while the phone lasts a good deal on a single charge, it takes a little more than 2 hours to charge from 0 percent to 100.
Unfortunately, the battery doesn’t support fast charge technology, becuase its charger comes with 5V/1A capacity, but can hold power for a whole day when fully charged
Hardware and Software
During the review period, which the phone was subjected to, it was observed, S15 and S15 Pro is such a good phone, considering the cost with its performance, for it practically handles all daily tasks flawlessly a phone should be subjected to.
Although the phone may be concluded as not be a good gaming phone, especially when tested with high resource-demanding PUGB games, which affects some background applications, whereby switching from a task to another might be a nightmare for the users.
Nevertheless, it performance is considerably impressive, when put side-by-side with other much high ending resources phones, as there are little differences observed, despite that S15 Pro is powered by Octa-core processor Unisoc Spreadtrum SC9863a processor clocked at 1.6GHz, PowerVR Rogue GE8322 GPU, encrusted alongside with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256GB through dedicated microSD card slot.
The S15 model is loaded with a bit different and lower version of the S15 Pro version. The S15 runs on the processor speed of 1.6Ghz and comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB through the dedicated microSD card slot.
Although new justification of these hardware component performances of the device is considered not encouraging, considering the competitor Tecno Spark 4, Infinix Hot 8, and more, for it shall face stiff competition with them in the market.
S15 Pro runs stock Android 9.0 Pie mobile operating system, while the S15 model runs on the Go-Edition of Android 9.0 Pie. The smartphone is preinstalled with a handful of customized apps that include: Accelerate, App Freeze, Calculator, Calendar, Carl Care, Gallery, Music, Opera Mini, Phone Manager, Power Master, and Smart Transfer.
These pre-installed apps are a replica of the apps preinstalled by Google mobile operating system – Android. Thou some can be uninstalled, while some can be disabled. System and preinstalled apps take up about 8GB of that, leaving you with 24GB and 8GB storage space out of the box.
On the security sides, S15 and S15 Pro have various security measure to protect users’ privacies., the Fingerprint Unlocking, the Number Code Unlocking, the Pattern code Unlocking are traditional ways known with ITel products, which invariably works beautifully and flawlessly, but the introduction of The face detection Unlocking Algorithm to unlock the phone is impressive.
Design and Display
The phone features a plastic back panel, but it is a beautiful plastic job that draws you to what appears to be an upper mid-range smartphone, as the standard S15 with a dewdrop notch housing the selfie shooter. The budget Android smartphone be available in Gradation Dark Purple for S15 Pro version and S15 model in Black, Gradation Red, and Gradation Med Blue options
S15 Pro features the 6.1-inch HD+ display, which is similar to the standard S15. The display is also armed with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, offering enough space for you to enjoy your games and video content. This design standout with a correct edge-to-edge curved screen type that, when viewed directly, looks as if it is being wrapped with it.
The S-Series smartphone features a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and supports basic IPS LCD. The pixel density of 409 pixels-per-inch still looks incredible, with a 19:9 aspect ratio all with a thickness of 8.8mm
Multitasking And Performance
There are no miracles here. What you get is an entry-level performance, and that is okay. The Unisoc processor keeps the phone running as good as any Mediatek or Snapdragon does at this price point.
You will be happy to hear that the S15 Pro has 2GB of RAM installed, which means faster and smoother app switching and loading if you don’t push it too hard.
I got a request for the AnTuTu benchmark test, so I ran the test and had a score for the S15 Pro: 71,788. S15 pro AnTuTu benchmark score.

ITel s15 and S15 Pro smartphone was launched in July 2019 and was made available on August 25, 2019. The phone comes with a 6.-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720×1560 pixels. S15 Pro is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Unisoc Spreadtrum SC9863a processor and the standard model with 1.3GHz processor speed.
It comes with 4GB of RAM. S15 and S15 Pro runs on custom Android 9.o Pie for S15 Pro and Go-edition for the standard model and packs 32GB and 16GB of inbuilt storage, respectively, that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB) with a dedicated slot. They both are dual-SIM smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM card.
Regarding the cameras are concerned, the S-Series model is packed with a triple camera on the rear packs, a 13-megapixel primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture + VGA + VGA sensor. It sports a 16-megapixel camera on the front for selfies, with an f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity options on the S15 Pro include WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, Micro-USB, and F.M. radio. Unfortunately, the phone does not have any sensors on the phone apart from the fingerprint sensor. The S-Model supports face unlock.
They both measures 156.7 x 74.7 x 8.90mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 153.00 grams. It was launched in plastic Gradation Dark Purple, and its S15 model comes in Black, Gradation Red, and Gradation Med Blue options.
Both devices features some extra touches that make it compelling to their customer. A starter will find it is drop-dead gorgeous, for its’ Gradation purple finish.
Secondly, it packs a decent selfie camera. Thirdly, it has a triple camera setup on the back, which is rare among entry-level devices.
The cameras pull off decent shots, though it can often be inconsistent in the results they get.
And it is forgivable: this is entry-level. And this is ITel pushing the boundaries, which is a good thing.
I expect that a software update can improve the triple camera. If not, hopefully, ITel will improve on it in future models. But this is an excellent first attempt at implementing high-end features with low-end hardware.
