Jacob Mark, a former legal adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has challenged claims made by African Democratic Congress (ADC)’s interim spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi that Peter Obi risks harm by returning to the PDP – www.naijnaira.com reports.
Abdullahi’s statement, made during a Prime Time appearance on Arise News, claimed Obi is better aligned with ADC’s coalition and aware of the consequences of returning to PDP.
Mark responded by describing Abdullahi as a serial political drifter whose primary goal is personal advancement, not public interest.
“He’s a known power hunter who’s always switching platforms depending on where the wind blows,” Mark said.
He questioned the credibility of such figures shaping political narratives, saying they’re unfit to dictate Obi’s political choices.
Mark argued that Peter Obi is well aware of what’s at stake, and if he chooses to join ADC, it’s his decision, but warned that the party’s agenda might not align with Obi’s interests.
“Those behind ADC won’t hand their ticket to Obi—they have their own goals,” Mark stated.
He stressed that Obi is not a founding figure in the ADC coalition and merely serves as a face to draw attention.
“Remove Obi from the ADC and no one would even talk about them,” he added.
Mark criticized external commentary on PDP affairs by those no longer within the party’s ranks, saying they’re unqualified to speak on matters they no longer influence.
According to him, the PDP remains focused on internal dialogue and the nation’s future, not petty squabbles.
He maintained that his loyalty lies with PDP and rejected the idea of switching parties just to hold office.
Mark concluded by urging Nigerians to pay closer attention to the track records of those seeking power, rather than fall for familiar political tactics.
