Former Nigerian leaders, Ibrahim Babangida and Yakubu Gowon have called for support for the new administration and urged the government to prioritize the welfare of Nigerians.
Babangida expressed concern over the low turnout of voters in the recent elections and called for a redesign of the economic system to address issues such as unemployment and inflation.
Gowon expressed satisfaction that Nigeria remains united after 60 years and called for massive support for the incoming government.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan, on the other hand, called for a reform of the electoral system to ensure that appointed officials are of impeccable character and go through a rigorous screening process.
He also expressed concern over the contentious and controversial nature of elections in Nigeria and called for the system to convince people who lose elections that they truly lost.
Meanwhile, the wife of the president-elect, Senator Remi Tinubu, has said she is hopeful that her husband will succeed as president, especially with the prayers of Nigerians.
