Jude Bellingham has been given the green light to participate in England’s next game at the Euros against Switzerland, following a disciplinary decision regarding a gesture he made during the last-16 match against Slovakia.
The Real Madrid midfielder had directed a gesture towards the Slovakia bench after scoring an overhead kick that forced extra time.
Bellingham described the gesture as “an inside joke towards some close friends.”
However, UEFA opened an investigation on Monday to determine whether the gesture “violated the basic rules of decent conduct.”
UEFA concluded their investigation on Friday, announcing that Bellingham would be fined 30,000 euros (£25,400) and issued a suspended one-match ban.
This ban will be triggered if Bellingham commits another offence within one year.
The Football Association (FA) was also fined 11,000 euros (£9,000) for crowd disturbances and the lighting of fireworks by supporters during the match against Slovakia.
