The family of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope has been hit with another loss, as his father, Ozor Luke Odonwodo, has passed away. The news comes just a year after Junior Pope tragically lost his life in April 2024 during a boat accident in Anambra State.
According to News, the announcement of the elder Odonwodo’s death was made by Junior Pope’s widow, Jenifer Awele Odonwodo, in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday. She shared that she had visited her father-in-law in Enugu weeks before his passing, unaware it would be their final time together.
Jenifer reflected on their relationship, expressing deep affection and gratitude for the bond they shared. “One man that genuinely loved me. He passed as an octogenarian who lived a good life, paid his dues, sacrificed a lot for his family and loved ones, and happily reaped the fruits of his labour,” she wrote.
She went on to describe the heartbreaking moment when her mother-in-law, Reme, informed her of the passing. “Reme, Nwanyiomam, this is actually a lot within one year but I pray God gives you and us all the strength we need to keep pushing no matter how hard it seems,” she added, referencing their shared grief.
The Odonwodo family now mourns both father and son, leaning on faith and scripture for comfort during this difficult time.
