Juventus, one of the top football clubs in Europe, has been banned from participating in European competitions next season due to violations of UEFA’s Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play rules.
The ban comes as a result of Juventus’ failure to meet the accounting requirements for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 financial years.
In addition to the ban, the club has been fined 10 million euros for submitting incomplete financial information.
While Juventus has accepted the decision and will not appeal the sanction, they maintain that it does not constitute an admission of any liability on their part.
The club’s president expressed regret over the decisions and emphasized the need to put an end to a period of uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, another Premier League club, has reached a settlement with UEFA over the submission of incomplete financial information.
The club will pay a fixed financial contribution of 10 million euros as part of the settlement.
As a result of their chaotic campaign and 12th place finish in the Premier League, Chelsea will also not be competing in European competitions in the upcoming season.
