Kenneth Okonkwo, a Labour Party (LP) chieftain, has claimed that recent incidents of stoning towards President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina and Kano States were caused by utterances made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

The former Lagos State governor had accused the Nigerian leader of using fuel and naira shortages to his advantage.

According to Okonkwo, these accusations provoked citizens to stone the President’s convoy and a chopper that flew him.

He urged APC members to ask Tinubu for Peter Obi to step up as he believed he was a competent person with sound character.

Okonkwo serves as one of LP Presidential Campaign Council’s spokespersons.
