Kevin Costner Puts Oceanfront Property Up for Sale to Fund New Film Project

To fund his passion project, a four-part Western film called Horizon, Kevin Costner has put his 10-acre oceanfront property in California up for sale.

The 68-year-old actor revealed in an interview with Deadline that he had mortgaged the land in Santa Barbara without a second thought, causing his accountant to worry.

Costner has reportedly raised up to $50 million of the $100 million budget for Horizon, a project he has been trying to bring to life for over 30 years.

Despite his net worth of around $250 million and being the highest-paid actor on TV, Costner has vowed to never again put his own money into a movie after this one.

The film, which is currently in production, will mark Costner’s first directorial job in two decades and will star a cast including Michael Rooker, Sienna Miller, and Sam Worthington.

Horizon will document the settlement of the American west before and after the Civil War.
