NNPP presidential candidate Kwankwaso to abolish Security vote if elected

Dr. Babayo Liman, a long-time ally of Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso and the North East Secretary of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Liman declared his decision yesterday at a press conference in Gombe, expressing his desire to support the PDP’s presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s campaign for the upcoming election.

He also resigned from his position as Northeast Zonal Secretary of NNPP, as well as from his role on the NNPP Presidential Campaign Council and as coordinator of the Kwankwasiyya movement in the area.

Liman called on 600,000 NNPP members in Gombe State to defect and obtain PDP membership cards.

He urged Kwankwaso to withdraw from the race and support Atiku instead, citing Atiku’s past experience as Vice President of Nigeria as a factor demonstrating Atiku’s greater capacity to revive Nigeria’s economy.
