In a recent development, the Lagos State House of Assembly has defied Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu by rejecting 17 out of the 39 cabinet nominees he sent for screening.
The confirmation of the remaining 22 nominees was done through a voice vote after a rigorous and detailed screening process conducted by an ad-hoc committee led by the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Fatai Mojeed.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, commended the committee for their effectiveness and reminded the confirmed nominees that they are in office to serve the people of the State.
He also assured that the House would continue to work in the best interest of the State.
The rejected nominees include prominent figures such as Prof. Akin Abayomi and Mr. Gbenga Omotosho.
