Sergio Aguero has revealed the future of Lionel Messi’s career after inadvertently “leaking” where Messi might move next.

In an interview with UOL, Aguero suggested that Messi is seriously considering a return to his first club, Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina.

Fellow Argentine and ex-Liverpool winger Maxi Rodriguez interrupted the conversation to admit that although it’s difficult to be certain, they will have to wait and see what happens before getting ahead of themselves.

Messi began his footballing journey at Newell’s Old Boys academy before heading over to Barcelona and has been linked with returning there once his current contract with Paris Saint Germain expires.

He may also appear in Rodriguez’s testimonial match for the club later this year; some reports suggest this would act as a trial for a potential permanent switch.

After five years in PSG, Messi has shown excellent form during this season having scored 16 goals and assisting 14 more in 27 appearances already surpassing his total from last term.

Should Lionel Messi remain at Paris Saint Germain or play for another team? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
