In line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s rebranding initiatives, operatives of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) are now required to wear vests, body cameras, and badges at all times.
This was announced by the General Manager of LNSA, Dr Ifalade Oyekan, during the presentation of new operational vehicles and tools to Neighbourhood Watch staff across local government areas (LGAs) to boost community policing in the state.
The aim is to equip officers with the necessary tools to perform their duties optimally without burdening them with weight.
The identification badge is a new initiative, and officers are required to wear it with their uniforms or on their person at all times.
The state government has also recruited over 1,000 officers who are indigenous people in the various LGAs where they reside and are registered with the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) to achieve maximum grassroots intelligence gathering and community policing.
