Manchester City are reportedly offering Erling Haaland a new contract without a release clause, after removing the previous one from his existing contract.
Haaland, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund for £52 million last summer, has been in exceptional form for the club.
His previous contract contained a clause allowing him to leave for £150m in 2024, but this was linked to Pep Guardiola’s future at the club and was removed once Guardiola renewed his own contract.
While the details of Haaland’s new contract are unknown, Real Madrid continue to be linked with the striker as a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema.
However, Haaland is said to be happy at City and believes he is at the right club to improve as a player.
He has scored an incredible 46 goals in 39 appearances for City this season, helping them to the brink of a Champions League semi-final and within reach of the Premier League title.
