Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed that Anthony Martial, Antony and Scott McTominay are unlikely to be available for the club’s upcoming Europa League play-off first leg against Barcelona next week.
Ten Hag noted that all three players have been ruled out of Sunday’s clash with Leeds United in the Premier League, and suggested they would also miss the European tie at Catalonia next week.
Martial is suffering from a hip injury, Antony has a leg problem and McTominay has been out for three games with an unspecified injury.
Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka could return from illness at Elland Road after he missed the midweek draw, but Casemiro remains suspended while Christian Eriksen (ankle) and Donny van de Beek (knee) are out until late April and for the remainder of the campaign respectively.
Regarding these injuries, Ten Hag acknowledged that this season’s tough schedule due to an additional World Cup tournament had put a lot of strain on the players but insisted that these particular difficulties were not related to it.
