According to reports, Manchester United have submitted an opening double offer to sign Bayern Munich defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

Although the initial proposal was rejected by Bayern, the ongoing talks highlight a potential agreement in the near future.

The rejection of United’s proposal doesn’t spell the end of negotiations.

Bayern Munich‘s stance indicates their valuation of the duo differs from what was put forward.

As discussions continue, both clubs will aim to find common ground. De Ligt and Mazraoui were previously told they were not part of Vincent Kompany’s plans, making their exit more probable.

Mazraoui was close to signing with West Ham United but complications with his agent led to the collapse of that move.

The Moroccan international now seems set for Old Trafford, with the anticipation that United’s own Aaron Wan-Bissaka may head to West Ham instead.

Both de Ligt and Mazraoui have reportedly agreed to personal terms with Manchester United, each poised for a five-year contract.
