Former Chelsea football star John Obi Mikel has expressed his disappointment with the club’s new players and co-owner Todd Boehly over their poor performance this season.
Despite this, Mikel hopes that the return of his former teammate Frank Lampard will turn things around for the club.
Following Roman Abramovich’s sanctions due to Russia’s attack on Ukraine, Chelsea was sold to Boehly and his co-owners last year.
However, the new owners’ spending of over £600m on new players has not translated into success on the pitch, with Chelsea currently sitting in 11th place in the Premier League table.
Mikel, who is a legend at Stamford Bridge, is unhappy with both Boehly and the club’s new players, stating that some of them are not good on the ball and do not fit the Chelsea style of play.
With Lampard’s return, Mikel hopes that the team will start playing well and getting good results.
