Mohamed Salah once again starred for Liverpool in their Premier League opener against Ipswich Town, leading the Reds to a 2-0 victory in Arne Slot’s first league game as manager.

After a lackluster first half where Ipswich arguably played better, Salah turned the game around in the second half, delivering a goal and an assist.

The 32-year-old unselfishly set up Diogo Jota for the opening goal and then scored himself five minutes later with a close-range finish.

Salah’s goal marked his ninth on an opening day in the Premier League, pushing him ahead of legends like Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard, and Alan Shearer, and adding another record to his impressive list of achievements at Anfield.

Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has scored in every season opener except last year against Chelsea, where he still managed to assist Luis Diaz’s goal.

Despite his ongoing brilliance, Salah’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain.

His contract runs until the summer of 2026, but he has yet to agree on an extension.

Speculation continues about a potential move to the Saudi Pro League.
